Project Engineer / Pavement Engineer

Base Pay Range
$90,000.00 / yr – $120,000.00 / yr

Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee construction management of ongoing civil construction projects for airfield runway improvements / pavement resurfacing.Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan.Oversee and perform three‑phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure compliance with the contract and specifications.Review design, comment logging and back‑checking for Design‑Build projects.Monitor submittals using a submittal status log.Review and comment on the accuracy of the contractor’s requests for payment.Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating activities worked on or behind schedule.Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, and field changes.Review and process Requests for Information (RFI) and contract documents, including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, and other locally generated documents during construction.Support construction contract modifications.Perform critical path schedule review.Education and Experience
7+ years of engineering and construction management experience.Experience with construction administration and the capability to handle large civil works projects.Bachelor of Science required.Knowledge / experience in airfield runway improvements and / or pavement resurfacing.US Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience preferred.Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred.Experience reading construction plans and specifications.Good written communication and organizational skills.Physical Requirements
