Job Summary
The primary duty of this position is developing strategy, leading change management, and directing a team of managers, who specialize in one or more related spend categories; establishing objectives for a group of spend categories along with developing the strategy for the short term and long term sourcing plans; overseeing and adjusting the execution of sourcing and procurement strategies; leading the development and execution of reporting and tracking mechanisms; reporting on sourcing strategies and performance within areas of responsibility; driving cross-functional teams in change management and business continuity; defining procurement requirements and operational needs; and implementation of enterprise wide strategic sourcing tools and systems.
Responsibilities :
- Develop a companywide program procurement, purchasing, contracts, negotiations & vendor selection, including frameworks for vendor evaluation, engagement, and RFP ownership.
- Establish extensive professional knowledge and experience of principles and techniques of negotiation to advise the business, direct and secure the best outcome for the company, maximize leverage control and steer complex and critical negotiations.
- Maintain and utilize a robust understanding of supply market dynamics / insights and present opportunities to derive new commercial advantage and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders, members, and sectors to understand and support their vendor needs; work with managers and key partners to identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power.
- Stay abreast of the latest in foodservice and hospitality trends to ensure we are first to market with unique industry-shaping offers and related contracts.
- Develop, direct, and manage overall cost reduction targets and oversee execution of initiatives accountable for reporting of procurement savings and compliance, inclusive of tracking savings to the P&L
- Responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing supply markets, identifying sourcing value levers, executing competitive RFIs / RFPs and leading supplier negotiations.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, business adoption, and technology enhancements.
- Undertake people management responsibilities, including but not restricted to, generating training and development plans, carrying out performance appraisals and dealing with performance related issues.
- Provide coaching and support to direct reports in their day-to-day roles and act as a point of escalation where necessary for specific issues that may arise
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; MBA preferred.7+ years proven management experience in Procurement / Supply Chain / Sourcing role with a track record of solid management behavior and results.Effective written & verbal communication skills.Project Management skills / experience.Ability to manage multiple priorities among cross-functional teams.Proven customer focus orientation.Demonstration of critical thinking, ability to draw conclusions from financial models of various data sources and make recommendations from large and small data sets across the business at all levels.Proven experience in managing a P&L or budget.Significant experience leading and conducting negotiations for contracts with domestic & international sources across a wide portfolio of categories.Strong internal stakeholder management skills capacity to listen, build trusting relationships in all levels of the organization, understand, and capture stakeholder's needs and deliver effective solutions.Up to 10% Travel Annually.Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
