Position Summary :

We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and contributing to the company's long-term growth. The territory will include Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, with regional and overnight travel required.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate terms and close deals that align with company goals and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to guide business strategy and meet targets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred - equivalent experience considered.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management - preferably in a related industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently at all levels.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to travel regionally, including overnight stays as needed
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in route delivery required; warehouse or distribution is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and a strong customer service mindset.
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Requirements

  • Demonstrates strong safety awareness and adheres to all DOT, traffic, and company safety regulations.
  • Provides excellent customer service; courteous, professional, and responsive at all customer touchpoints.
  • Manages time efficiently and can adapt to changes in routes or delivery schedules.
  • Communicates clearly with warehouse staff, dispatch, and customers.
  • Works well in a team environment and is willing to assist in warehouse operations as needed.
  • Comfortable with basic technology tools, such as handheld devices, routing apps, and delivery logs.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing delivery tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and always represents Colours, Inc. in a professional manner.
