Overview
Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent full-time Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Atlanta, GA.
Position may include pay and benefits as described below. This role requires driving Ryder vehicles and providing on-site mobile maintenance for heavy- and medium-duty trucks.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers to independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss repair estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules with customers and road-test vehicles to identify causes of complaints; ensure quality of repair work and customer satisfaction.
- Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs across systems including brakes, electrical, cooling, charging, fuel, and PM procedures; diagnose and repair as qualified.
- Operate and troubleshoot A / C and heating systems, braking systems (air and hydraulic), steering, driveline, fuel systems, and electrical components.
- Utilize Shop Management System and maintain compliance with safety, DOT, and company guidelines; document repairs accurately.
- Complete required training and certifications; mentor junior technicians as applicable.
- Maintain and uphold all safety, environmental, and quality records per corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Vocational / Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.Basic tools required; demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive engines (gas or diesel).Experience with routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs including AC, electrical systems, and major engine work.Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.CDL Class A preferred; other state licenses required as applicable.Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment.Ability to drive Ryder vehicles; able to take home assigned mobile service truck where applicable.Strong communication, customer service, and time-management skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.Willingness to complete required OEM online diagnostic tool courses as location fleet requires.Benefits
