Position Overview
A facility in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide direct patient care on a medical / surgical oncology unit, including chemotherapy administration, blood product management, and supportive oncology care.
Requirements
Active RN License – IN
2+ years of RN experience ; oncology experience preferred
Certifications : ACLS, BLS – required
Skills : RB required; oncology background preferred
EMR : Cerner
Floating : Required
Unit Details
Unit Type : Medical / Surgical Oncology
Beds : 24
Patient Ratio : 5 : 1 (occasionally 6 : 1)
Call Requirements : Every other or every third weekend; holidays on a rotation schedule; no additional on-call requirements
Job Summary
The Oncology RN is responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies and the State Nurse Practice Act. Duties include assessing patients, administering medications including chemotherapy, managing blood products, monitoring patient response, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
