Our client, a long-established and steadily growing real estate development and property management firm based in White Plains, NY , is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys both hands-on accounting and leading a small team. The ideal candidate brings experience in real estate or property management, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff; ensure accurate and timely completion of daily accounting functions
• Review property-level financials, variance analyses, and cash flow reporting
• Oversee accounting for multiple entities and intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations, asset management, and leadership teams to support business objectives
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
• Manage and optimize processes within Yardi for reporting and efficiency
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based reports and analyses to support decision-making
