Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with a NM or compact license, requiring at least two years of PACU experience and multiple certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the PACU and pre-op areas of a hospital surgical departmentDay shift with rotating 8- and 10-hour shifts; start times vary by phase or departmentPre-op start time is 0545, PACU post-op start time is 0730Floating between departments and to local locations within 20 miles is requiredEPIC EMR system is used; on-site training providedProvide comprehensive perioperative care including patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentationAdminister prescribed medications and treatments, and monitor patient responsesCoordinate care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare teamSupervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as requiredComplete unit-specific population, procedure, protocol education, and competency testingReturn travelers or perm staff must wait one year before being eligible for considerationFirst-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel experience is required\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license from New Mexico or a compact state requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross requiredAt least two years of recent PACU experience requiredAt least one previous 13-week travel assignment requiredAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) requiredMust pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA) test during orientation; failure on second attempt results in dismissalMust live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible\n Benefits\n
