Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. The Club was listed as #1 Golf Course renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine's 2019 Private Clubs and named Best Overall Club in 2022-2024. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.

Northwood is currently looking for someone to provide daily maintenance and landscape services for all aspects of the grounds and other areas as required. Main job function will be mowing, blowing leaves, raking bunkers, planting and watering flowers and other plants, possibly some gardening, and using a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools for general landscaping. The position may require overtime and shift starts as early as 6 : 00 a.m.

Essential Duties

• Responsible for the safe operation of any equipment used.
• Responsible for mowing, edging, and trimming of grass and bushes.
• Work closely with other landscape maintenance employees performing job assignments.
• Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance, club grounds and construction : raking, mowing, trimming of hedges, mulch, planting, watering, fertilizing, irrigation, digging holes, and clearing debris such as fallen limbs and branches.
• Ensure a safe working environment at the maintenance facility, golf course property, and with equipment.
• Must be able to perform job activities in all phases of ground maintenance for the club property.
• Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent implementing, and completing all duties, assignments and projects.

Education / Experience

High school education; or up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

May be required : to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

May be required : to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.

Reasoning Ability

May be required : to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands

Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts or carries up to 50 pounds.

Vision Requirements

Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment / Noise

Works in outdoor conditions and with loud mechanical machinery. Will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions, heat and extreme cold. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates / Licenses

Must be at least age 18.
