Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Salisbury, MD 21801 (Maryland nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) – Cardiac Stepdown

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Cardiac Stepdown RN

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990 - $2130

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or Compact State

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Ability to attend orientation every other week (11 / 17 - 12 / 01)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide clinical care for high acuity cardiac patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring

Care for patient populations including sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, continuous cardiac infusions, and acute non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP / CPAP)

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

Respond rapidly to changes in patient hemodynamics or respiratory status

Serve as a patient advocate and provide education to patients and families

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced IMC environment
