Job descriptionAssist physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Perform and review baseline patient evaluations within scope of practice and facility standards. Monitor and record ECG and hemodynamic data during procedures; recognize and respond to abnormal findings. Operate all diagnostic and therapeutic cath lab equipment efficiently; troubleshoot and report malfunctions as necessary. Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all safety and infection control policies. Demonstrate proper aseptic and sterile technique throughout all procedures; handle and dispose of sharps and supplies per protocol. Prepare and process instruments and equipment for cleaning after each case. Ensure ethical, legal, and professional conduct while maintaining patient confidentiality. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care team members to provide high-quality patient care. High school diploma / GED or equivalent required. Completion of a Cardiovascular Invasive program or equivalent experience required. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification required. BLS certification required; ACLS may be required depending on assignment. Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital-based cardiac cath lab or equivalent experience meeting certification requirements. Demonstrated ability to function calmly and efficiently in high-stress emergent situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
