The Maternity Technician provides indirect care functions related to obstetrical patients. Responsibilities include functioning as a 'scrub technologist' in the C-section suite and other clinical areas, selecting and setting up sterile tables with instruments, supplies and equipment.

They pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures, maintain sterile technique and care for instruments post-procedure. Additionally, they assist in vaginal deliveries and perform designated unit and clerical functions.
Key qualifications include coursework / training in an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience. A Washington Surgical Technologist Registration and National Provider BLS certification are also required upon hire.
Preferred qualifications include recent experience as an OB Scrub Tech or surgical technologist in an acute care facility, as well as Provider NRP certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
