ABOUT THE POSITION
Information Technology Specialists perform a variety of technical support duties pertaining to computer systems and related equipment and may serve as a first responder for computer, network, and hardware / software issues. Information Technology Specialists may serve as the technical representative and liaison between departments and the information technology (IT) service provider to provide effective technical support for network services and IT business processes. The IT Specialist offers technical support to staff and diagnoses errors, installs, and updates computer hardware / software; analyzes and resolves system / application-related support requests, including specialties such as Help Desk, Web, and ERP. The current opening for this position is with the Sheriff's Office.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for IT Specialist must have working knowledge of relevant operating systems and technological products / services with a vision for using those tools to improve the overall user experience and customer service. An effective IT Specialist will possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with a desire to implement new processes and recommend enhancements to current systems, and the ability to identify troubleshoot, and resolve system and application issues. The ideal candidate for the IT Specialist position will have good organization, time management, and prioritization skills to work on a wide array of competing projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS
You will be exposed to computer screens in an office environment. Depending on the Department you are placed with, this position may require on-call support of systems for the County\'s 24 / 7 computing environment.
