Hybrid Accounting opportunity in the West Hartford area! This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with GAAP standards. As part of the accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations, reporting accuracy, and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities :
- Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Handle fixed asset processes, including acquisitions and dispositions, for internal book and tax purposes.
- Provide financial support for portfolio companies.
- Perform reconciliations for selected balance sheet and income statement accounts as assigned.
- Ensure all financial reporting related to portfolio companies is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Maintain organized and thorough documentation to support accounting transactions.
- Communicate with external auditors and tax consultants when required.
- Create ad-hoc financial reports and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Take on additional support duties as assigned to assist the accounting team.
- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger records.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standards.
- Experience in financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management, including acquisitions and dispositions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external auditors.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work within deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
