Technical Operations Engineer
Stripe, Inc. : Technical Operations Engineer - Seattle, WA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.) DUTIES : Collaborate with engineering, product, accounting, finance, sales and operations teams to calculate and optimize Stripe fees and investigate cause and impact analysis of misbillings for the large complex strategic customer deals, using SQL and Python. Design, automate and maintain operational workflows and ETL pipelines using SQL, Ruby, Databricks and / or Airflow to enhance process efficiency and scale Stripe's billing operations. Introduce data and process efficiencies such as setting up relevant metrics, KPIs, reports and business intelligence solutions using tools like Snowflake, Tableau or internal tools to monitor performance, ensure accuracy and support data-driven decisions on new commercial models; Scale existing User Billing operations on user pricing, onboarding and error reconciliations by driving the design, documentation, and training of operational processes and domain knowledge; Become a domain expert on Stripe's business economics and consult others (e.g. sales and products) on questions like user billing capabilities, pricing structure support and system integrations. Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners or users to align workflow and ensure seamless billing.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field and 2 years of Data science & analytics experience. Position also requires the following : - 2 years of experience with data analytics, data engineering or operations engineering - 2 years of experience in using scientific computing language (Scala or Python or Ruby) and SQL - 2 years of experience with database management, identifying root causes & data quality issues - 1 year of experience in design, automate and scale data workflows & BI systems using Spark or Airflow - 1 year of experience in managing multiple workstreams, defining KPIs and monitoring reports - 1 year of experience in working cross-functionally and communicating with internal and external partners.
