Lead Frontend Engineer (React)

We seek a Lead Frontend Engineer (React) who will serve as a hands-on mentor to junior engineers, drive large-scale web projects, and champion frontend best practices. This remote role requires the ability to support the Mountain Standard Time zone and report directly to our client, who is a Sr. Lead Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust multi-page React applications with scalable, reusable components.

Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering technical growth.

Ensure rigorous documentation, architectural consistency, and reusability throughout the codebase.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (PMs, BAs, UI / UX, and clients) to capture requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

Implement HTML5, CSS / SASS / LESS, and accessibility standards.

Optimize performance for SEO, SSR, and real-time data integrations using APIs and asynchronous requests.

Utilize build tools (npm, webpack, grunt, gulp) and advanced version control (Git).

Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance frontend and full stack features.

Conduct code reviews to enforce quality and best practices.

Architect event-based systems or microservices from the ground up.

Embrace Agile methodology and proactively manage project scope and priorities.

Stay current on industry trends, sharing new ideas with the team.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of overall development experience with 5+ years of hands-on React coding.

5+ years in JavaScript / TypeScript; coding assessment required.

3+ years' experience in Node.js and Express.

3+ years of leading / mentoring developers or senior engineers.

2+ years working with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with Azure Cloud Functions.

Proven experience in architecting microservices / event-based systems.

Experience with monitoring or application tools : DataDog, Splunk, App Insights, New Relic.

Established track record with CI / CD, unit testing, security, and networking.

Agile project team experience; Ruby experience is a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Ruby is a plus but not mandatory.

Strong consulting or client-facing communication skills.

Passion for driving innovation and process improvement.

Proven ability to deliver technical solutions in dynamic environments.
