Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Bridgeton, Missouri (63044) – Greater St. Louis area

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 36 (Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts / week)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,760 - $1,890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience (2 years preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Experience in travel nursing or rehabilitation hospital setting is a plus

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission in the Med / Surg unit

Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Promote patient safety and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical safety protocols

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and patient safety

Participate in team building and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities
