A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work 3-12 hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
• Patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4
• Care for patients under 2 years of age, including premature infants (28 weeks and above)
• Work with specialized NICU equipment including nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, ventilators, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS monitors, warmers, and isolettes
• Required certifications : BLS and NRP
• Minimum 1 year Level III NICU experience required
• Must have experience with preemies, central line management, and respiratory management up to and including intubated patients
• Preferred skills include experience with surgical patients, cardiac patients, patients under 27 weeks gestation, tracheostomy infants, and broviacs
• May float to PICU, Pediatrics, or CICU as needed (contract staff float before permanent staff)
• Unit performs procedures including central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laparotomies, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations
• Documentation systems : CPN and Meditech
• Required uniform : Royal blue scrubs
• Work alongside RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs Facility : This major medical center features a comprehensive 108-bed Level III NICU located in the North Tower.
