CMA Job Summary / Purpose : Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant will perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach, striving to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
CMA Minimum Training and Education : High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred. One year of patient care experience is a plus. Basic computer skills and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required. You should also have knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and effective communication skills.
CMA Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Certification from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) is required. Current BLS certification is also necessary.
LPN Summary : As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide patient / family centered care while serving as a partner and advisor to effectively manage patients' health care needs. You'll apply critical reasoning in clinical judgments, assist with patient preparation and examination, perform screenings, document care and maintain communication with families and medical staff.
Physical Requirements : Applicants must be able to perform tasks in various positions including standing, sitting, and walking. The role may require climbing stairs, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintaining good vision and hearing capabilities. Ability to manipulate objects with hands and deal with stressful situations is essential. Working conditions include exposure to latex-safe environments.
