About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required, with a strong PCU background within the last year.

License : Valid nursing state license required.

Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, EKG test on arrival required.

Must-Have : EPIC experience preferred, but not required.

Description :

Position is focused on emergency department holding and cardiac intermediate care.

Traveler will be contracted to the emergency department unit specifically to care for inpatient and CICU level holds.

Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.

Patient diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia.

Will see medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic overflow cases.

Handles post-cath patients with stents only; no CABG cases.

Involves management and titration of drips such as Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.

Experience with special equipment like BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, and Phillips Monitoring System is required.

Fundamental nursing skills such as blood product administration and cardiac telemetry experience are essential.

Must be able to care for ventilated patients and manage tracheostomy care.

Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is also required.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams is expected.

This role requires adherence to isolation precautions and proper patient management techniques.

Other essential nursing skills include wound care and the ability to respond to rapid response / code situations.
