Position Summary

This position is responsible for designing mechanical and electrical pump station systems for project submittals and shop packs. You will manage custom pump station projects from order entry through shipment, including systems using centrifugal pumps, hydraulic valves, ASME Section 9 piping, AWS D1.1 skids, and full electrical controls (including Variable Frequency Drives and system control panels).

Essential Functions

  • Design custom pump station mechanical layouts based on customer specifications
  • Design building layouts as needed for selected pump stations
  • Evaluate component selections from the sales team for suitability in design
  • Create 3D design models using SolidWorks
  • Generate 2D drawings (general arrangement, piping, skid, etc.) from 3D models
  • Model new components and assemblies as required
  • Develop as-built drawings and complete O&M manuals
  • Create and manage comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) for electrical and mechanical components
  • Compile all manufacturing documentation, including drawings, datasheets, and notes into a complete shop pack
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education :

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 1+ years of experience, OR

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology with 2+ years of design engineering experience
  • Skills & Experience :

    • Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software

  • Creativity and innovation in design
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to all safety guidelines
  • High integrity, dependability, and a strong results-oriented mindset
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to contribute to electrical and controls design work
  • Sound judgment and a collaborative team attitude
