Overview Eastern Underwriting Management is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter to join our dynamic team. We are open to candidates that are interested in pursuing a career in Commercial Underwriting, and possess a degree in business administration, management, or marketing and / or have commercial property and casualty insurance experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and support documentation to determine coverages.
• Utilize software to assess risk levels and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Negotiate terms with clients and stakeholders to ensure favorable outcomes for all parties involved.
• Prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with insurance agencies and servicing teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in underwriting.

Qualifications

Proven experience in underwriting, preferably within the insurance industry.

Possess 4-year college degree in BS / BA and / or has property and casualty commercial insurance experience

Strong skills in report writing and analysis, with an emphasis on quantitative research.

Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Proficiency in using software tools for data analysis and reporting.

A solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies and underwriting guidelines.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

A degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
