Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Neurology Registered Nurse (RN) for a top Healthcare client.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess the neurological and general condition of the patient during admission and each shift, promptly identifying and reporting subtle changes in status
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation in the medical record
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic and unintended responses, and take appropriate clinical action
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, and follow-up measures, translating complex neurological terminology for clear understanding
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipating patient needs and concerns
- Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to follow established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage".
Requirements
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is RequiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing is PreferredExperience
Minimum of one (1) year of RECENT (within the last 4 years) Acute Care RN experience is requiredPrior experience in a Neurology or Neuro-Med Surg unit is highly desirable (implied by the job title)Certifications & Licenses
Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state(s) of practice and / or holds an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulationBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateSkills
Proven ability to make clinical assessments and manage care autonomously in alignment with the "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" modelStrong professional communication and patient advocacy skillsAbility to translate complex medical terminology for patient and caregiver educationBenefits
