This person will guide the estimating team, drive business development efforts, pursue high-fit work, and contribute to long-term market strategy. They will step into an essential leadership position during a period of accelerated transition due to an upcoming retirement. This role requires deep concrete construction expertise, strong client relationship skills, and the ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing preconstruction team.
Leadership & Strategy
Serve as the primary leader and representative of the Preconstruction department.
Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team (4 direct reports).
Guide strategic planning for market positioning, workload, and company growth.
Business Development
Maintain and expand client relationships.
Pursue and secure high-fit project opportunities.
Represent ELY in proposals, presentations, and preconstruction meetings.
Preconstruction & Estimating
Oversee all estimating activities for accuracy and competitiveness.
Delegate and manage team workload effectively.
Implement value-engineering solutions and support market / vertical expansion.
Success Metrics (6–12 Months)

Continuity and growth of client relationships.
Award of several new projects and consistent, high-quality bids.

Required Experience & Qualifications
Industry Expertise
~10–15 years of concrete construction experience.
~ Background with a GC that self-performs concrete or a concrete contractor with diverse project experience (not limited to tilt-up).
~ Experience with Structural and or Elevated Concrete
Education
~ Relevant construction or engineering education preferred.
Functional Competencies (Must-Have)
Ability to build and leverage a strong client portfolio.
Advanced preconstruction / estimating skills.
Experience managing and developing an estimating team.
