About The Position

Sterile Processing Technician

Experience : A minimum of 5 years previous sterile processing experience is required.

License : Certification required at hire and maintained.

Must-Have : Must be certified, have a 3 or above rating in Robotics, and have worked in a Level II Trauma or similar facility.

Description :

This position involves working the swing shift with weekend rotations.

The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, prepares, sterilizes, and stores instruments from across the healthcare system.

The technician also prepares case carts for the operating room.

The role primarily involves working in decontamination and rarely assembling trays.

The sterile processing unit serves multiple surgical operating rooms, labor and delivery operating rooms, cath labs, and various clinics.

This position encompasses nearly all specialties, including robotics.

The technician will work with various vendors for tray instruments.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Certification must be current and maintained.

Staffing and scheduling specifics may vary.

Knowledge and experience in aseptic technique, case cart preparation, and sterilization procedures are essential.

The ability to organize and properly label instruments, as well as understanding the use of washers and sterilizers, is required.

The technician should be familiar with high-level disinfection and reprocessing of surgical instruments.

Flexibility in adapting to different environments and procedures is important.

Floating to other facilities may be necessary based on staffing needs.
