Med Surg Nurse - TN Visa

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and compassionate Med Surg Nurse to join our partner, a leading medical center in Tuscaloosa, AL. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for qualified international candidates, as we provide comprehensive support for the TN Visa and immigration process. We are offering a $12,000 sign-on bonus , up to $4,000 in relocation assistance , and 60 days of free housing to welcome the right candidate to our team.

Position Overview

As a Med Surg Nurse, you will be a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing high-quality, compassionate care. You will work to build positive therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while ensuring the highest standards of professional nursing practice are maintained. This position also includes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing LPNs, PCAs, and other non-licensed staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate patient care by maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.
• Assess the condition of each assigned patient on admission and on an ongoing basis.
• Evaluate and regularly re-evaluate patient care, coordinating care plans with patients, families, providers, and other disciplines.
• Assign and delegate nursing care to team members in accordance with the patient's needs and the capabilities of the team.
• Apply safety principles when performing care and provide accurate handoff reports.
• Accurately document observations, care provided, and changes in the care plan.
• Assist in performance improvement (PI) activities to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Bring

• Required Qualifications:
  
  • A current approved Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state license is required, or the ability to obtain prior to your start date.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or client Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training is required.
  • At least two years of recent experience in acute care, with experience in admissions, discharges, and patient monitoring.
• Education and Skills:
  
  • An Associate's degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.
• For TN Visa Candidates:
  
  • The NCLEX and English exam (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE if not a native English speaker) and Visa screen fees are reimbursed for candidates currently outside the USA.
  • You will be supported in the Green card process after six months of completing your probationary period.
