Sr. Corporate Claims Specialist

The Sr. Corporate Claims Specialist analyzes, coordinates, and manages all aspects of GSF's insurance claims (workers compensation, auto, and general liability) process to efficiently mitigate the total cost of risk and exposure to the company. This position proactively coordinates with both internal and external resources to facilitate the handling from initial filing to eventual closure. The Sr. Corporate Claims champions internal GSF initiatives to better educate leadership on industry trends and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversees new and existing claim filings across all divisions in workers compensation, auto liability, physical damage, general liability.
- Support Assistant General Counsel on complex and litigated claims
- Reviews potential causes of accidents, injuries, and / or loss; recommends preventive measures and plans to support GSF's safety culture and to prevent accidents and injuries
- Develops and oversees claims handling procedures and program enhancements to streamline claims processing and mitigate loss
- Manage quarterly claim review with Third Party Administrators (TPA) through selection of claims to be covered, review of claims, and action item follow up post review.
- Fosters good business relationships internally and with third party service providers including brokers, insurers, and TPA
- Establishes loss prevention standards and evaluates alternative approaches to address losses and exposures; develops, implements, and monitors the adjustment of liability, subrogation, and property loss issues, and develops presentations to communicate risk management policies across all levels of leadership
- Prepares and is responsible for key performance indicators, loss analyses, identifying exposures, recommending solutions, implementing approved programs, and promoting loss prevention
- Documents, updates, and communicates procedures and processes
- Collaborates with corporate and division safety department personnel, legal and other departments on cross-functional initiatives, programs, insurance policies, and incidents / accidents related to loss prevention and risk mitigation
- Collects and analyzes data; prepares statistical reports and trending data
- Ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of data, records, and files
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Demonstrated application of knowledge, principles, and practices of claims administration, including risk identification / reduction, loss control, asset protection, and employee safetySuccessful and progressive history of insurance claims administration including the management of TPA'sDemonstrated knowledge and experience with partially self-insured programsDemonstrated application of statistical methods and analysesProficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel with RMIS / claims database experienceDemonstrated history of leadership, including mentoring staff and / or co-workers, prior supervisory experienceStrong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skillsTrack record of maintaining confidentiality and the highest level of integrity in all aspects of the job for self and staffAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesDemonstrated ability to collaborate successfully across functional lines and at all levelsDemonstrated excellent communication skills both orally and in writing and the ability to make presentationsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions in written, oral, or schedule formEducation and other requirements :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field from a four-year college or university.5-7+ years of progressive experience as an Insurance Claims Adjustor, TPA Team Lead, or Corporate Risk Manager with a high acuity for workers compensation and / or auto claims processesAssociate of Risk Management (ARM) desirableAn acceptable background check to include a local and state criminal history check and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPlease note that the compensation details listed in postings reflect the base pay only. Additional compensation including bonuses and car allowances are subject to eligibility. The expected range for this position is $110,000$125,000 / year. Location, confirmed job-related skills, education, experience, and relevant training will be considered in setting the actual starting salary.
