ST - Surgical Tech - OR

Position Overview

• Bonus: Up to $6,000
• Department: Surgery, OR
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 3pm, rotating weekday, rotating weekend, and rotating holiday call, with one weekly stay late
  • 1 FT available
  • 1 PRN available
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East, Trussville

What You Will Do

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.
