JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized environment while also emphasizing the importance of supporting individuals in a respectful and inclusive manner providing a positive and supportive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Previous experience working as a Custodian in a similar setting preferred
- Able to read and understand English.
- Able to accept supervision, and function independently.
- High School Diploma or GED
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Clean Building - including cleaning floors and / or carpets, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, sweeping, waxing, and polishing, washing windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces, wipe down surfaces, including tables, counters, and fixtures, dust furniture and fixtures, emptying trash and recycling bins, removing debris and garbage, clean, disinfect, and supply restrooms including toilet bowls, sinks and countertops, assist kitchen staff when needed with equipment, appliances, floors, drains, storage area, refrigerator, freezer, and sinksPerform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing lightbulbs, tightening loose screws on furniture, or fixing minor leaksMove furniture or equipment at the direction of Program DirectorNotify Program Director if repairs are neededConduct inventory of needed cleaning and maintenance supplies.Ability to follow company policies, verbal instructions, written rules, regulations and supervisor's directions.Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director.Has a full understanding of fire, emergency and safety procedures.Cooperates with the licensee and the Department of Human Services staff during any inspection or investigation.Must successfully complete required DDD Pre-Service Trainings (Overview of Developmental Disabilities, Medication Administration Training, Preventing Abuse and Neglect) and American Red Cross Standard First Aid Training and Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation training within 120 days of employment.Must successfully complete Crisis Management or related Behavioral Intervention training as approved by this agency.Must keep mandatory certification requirements (i.e. First Aid, C.P.R., TB testing, Medications Training Annual Review, etc.) current and up to date according to licensing standards.Must be fingerprinted at least every two years for DDD State and Federal Criminal Background check requirements.Must disclose to CHP Administration any criminal charges or convictions prior to or during employment; and also, Motor Vehicle moving violations and suspensions during employment.Permission for pre-employment and continued checks of drug screening, criminal background, Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI), and the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
