Quality Engineer

STS Technical Services is hiring a Quality Engineer to support a growing manufacturing client in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with quality systems, and enhancing customer satisfaction across all stages of production. Key Responsibilities Lead and support quality improvement projects to reduce defects and improve product reliability. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues. Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, inspection instructions, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality standards are met across the product lifecycle. Perform data analysis on quality metrics and present actionable findings to leadership. Support internal and external audits (including ISO 9001 and other relevant standards). Monitor and enhance supplier quality performance through audits and corrective actions. Train and mentor production teams on quality standards, tools, and best practices. Travel between three local sites within a 5-mile radius as needed. Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality improvement role. Strong knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, CTQ, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and control charts. Experience with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies preferred. Background in sheet metal fabrication, welding, paint, or electrical/mechanical assembly processes is a plus. Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar) and familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor and SharePoint. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. Certification (CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) preferred. Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
