Development Chemist I

Our client, a leader in the chemical manufacturing industry, is seeking a Development Chemist I to join their team. As a Development Chemist I, you will be part of the Research & Development department supporting formulation and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title : Development Chemist I Location : Springdale, PA What's the Job? Respond to color match requests and assist with color design work for wood flooring and other building materials. Maintain and test new or alternative pigments and raw materials to ensure supply security and reduce production disruptions. Design and execute experiments related to raw material testing and formulation improvements. Collaborate with sales teams to understand product attributes and build strong relationships with new customers to expand business opportunities. Investigate product quality issues, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve product performance. What's Needed? Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Coatings Science, or Chemical Engineering. Prior knowledge of coatings formulation is preferred, with 0-2 years of experience. Knowledge of scientific test methods and chemistry / coatings technology. Ability to plan and execute experiments independently, with guidance from senior team members. Strong communication skills to prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. What's in it for me?
