Process Engineering Manager
Position Overview
The Process Engineering Manager is a highly technical, hands-on engineering leader responsible for driving complex projects to completion in a fast-paced manufacturing and product development environment. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Engineering, this individual takes ownership of project execution, applies strong data-driven decision-making, and provides direct technical guidance on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership & Tactical Decision-Making : Act as a decision-maker for daily engineering and operational challenges, ensuring technical and schedule risks are proactively addressed.
- Data-Driven Problem Solving : Apply statistical methods, Design of Experiments (DOEs), and sound engineering principles to evaluate product performance and implement improvements.
- Project Execution : Track, manage, and drive projects directly—ensuring milestones, deliverables, and technical requirements are met.
- Hands-On Leadership : Provide on-the-floor technical direction, coaching, and troubleshooting support to engineers and technicians.
- Risk Assessment : Identify, evaluate, and elevate potential technical issues and risks that may impact quality, reliability, or schedule.
- Team Alignment & Focus : Maintain strong presence and influence to ensure cross-functional teams remain aligned on priorities.
- Schedule Accountability : Push for adherence to deadlines, balancing technical rigor with urgency to achieve project goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or related discipline).7+ years of experience in a highly technical environment (electronics, materials, or advanced manufacturing preferred).Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide hands-on technical direction in low-volume, high-mix production environments.Strong foundation in applied statistics, experimental design, and data analysis.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.Proven record of driving projects to completion under tight deadlines while maintaining technical integrity.Equal Employment Opportunity – M / F / Disability / Protected Veteran StatusSeniority level
