The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to lead our virtual, integrated behavioral health service offering. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering on our promise of whole-person care by providing clinical leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, integrated behavioral health services as part of our virtual multispecialty practice.

This role requires a unique blend of clinical expertise, leadership acumen, product and service development, and a passion for driving positive outcomes in virtual care through person-centered digital experiences.

Ovatient is a virtual-first, healthcare services company that puts people — not just patients — at the center of their health journey. Partnering with leading health systems, we deliver easy-to-access virtual primary and urgent care, and virtual integrated behavioral health visits through Epic and MyChart, ensuring documentation and communication follow the patient across their care journey. Key Responsibilities and Outcomes :

1. Clinical Leadership and Team Management :

  • Provide clinical oversight, supervision, and leadership to a team of clinicians delivering integrated behavioral health care.
  • Oversee assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Partner with the Medical Director of Integrated Primary Care to foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning within the clinical team.
  • Mentor and develop both medical and clinical staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Partner with operations leadership to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.
  • Manage and optimize the staffing model for efficient and effective service delivery.

2. Data Driven Program and Quality Management :

  • Develop and oversee mental health programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of care.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to improve service delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using data-driven approaches to make necessary adjustments and improve outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance processes, leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs), OKRs, and other metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Analyze clinical data to identify trends, measure performance, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards, addressing any clinical or operational issues promptly.
  • 3. Integrated Patient Care :

  • Conduct clinical intakes, individual therapy sessions, and group sessions.
  • Collaborate with primary care, specialists, and care coordination teams to engage patients and drive improved outcomes.
  • Build, activate referral pathways for both clinical and social supports as needed to ensure patient needs are being met.
  • Deliver excellent, personalized, and compassionate care, integrated with primary care and urgent care, through video visits, team-based care, and asynchronous messaging.
  • Offer guidance and education to patients on their health questions and concerns.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • 4. Strategic Planning and Innovation :

  • Collaborate with fellow leadership members on strategic initiatives to advance our virtual multispecialty practice and serve as a patient’s digital health home.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in behavioral health and health promotion.
  • Design and oversee new virtual care initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate impact on clinical outcomes and efficiency.
  • 5. Product and Content Development :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on virtual care product development.
  • Provide clinical insights to inform product strategy and prioritization.
  • Ensure our virtual care solutions address and support the behavioral health needs of our patients as part of a whole-person model of care.
  • Leverage digital tools to deliver engaging and interactive patient experiences.
  • Requirements and Qualifications :

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) or related field.
  • Licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in behavioral health care delivery, specifically within integrated care settings delivering health psychology-focused interventions.
  • Ohio and South Carolina licensure required. PSYPACT is acceptable.
  • Proven track record of clinical leadership and management in a virtual care setting.

  • Have the ability to bill all payers, including Medicare and Medicaid plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Experience designing and executing new initiatives, testing hypotheses, and iterating based on data-driven insights.
  • Comfort with data analysis and proficiency in leveraging data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Location : Fully remote, with limited travel for orientation and training.
