Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 3 years of experience and active Maine licensure for a varied-shift acute care hospital assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting within the rehabilitation therapy department
  • Treats patients by referral for physical therapy services, including surgical patients with joint replacements
  • Mix of orthopedic and general medical cases, with a focus on hip and knee replacements
  • Uses an Electronic Medical Record system for documentation
  • Varied shifts throughout the week
  • Responsible for evaluation, treatment planning, and progression of care for a diverse inpatient population
  • Provides education to patients and caregivers and collaborates with referring providers and the healthcare team
  • Works collaboratively with Physical Therapist Assistants and other therapy professionals
  • Required to follow standards for hip and knee replacement care, including specific education per program guidelines
  • Participates in in-service education and mentorship for new staff and students after two years’ experience
  • Supports departmental quality improvement, operational paperwork, and equipment cleanliness
  • Contributes to a welcoming environment and supports student learning as a shared responsibility

  • Current and active Physical Therapist license in Maine required, or license required if applicable
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent physical therapy experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; master's or doctorate preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in high-stress situations
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
