Our client is a respected infrastructure contractor serving the Baltimore region, focused on mission-critical water and wastewater utility projects. Their work supports vital public systems, and they are now seeking a skilled VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) Manager to strengthen their project delivery through advanced digital modelling and coordination.
Position Overview :
The VDC Manager will oversee and implement virtual design processes for large-scale infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on HVAC and ductwork systems. You will collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of VDC technologies into planning, design, and construction workflows. This role requires on-site presence five days a week in Baltimore.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and implement VDC strategies across utility infrastructure projects with a focus on HVAC and ductwork.
- Develop and coordinate 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring design accuracy and constructability.
- Conduct clash detection and lead model coordination meetings.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to integrate models with project goals and schedules.
- Provide technical leadership and training in VDC tools and processes.
- Support the integration of models into construction sequencing (4D), estimation (5D), and facilities management where applicable.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a VDC / BIM role within infrastructure or MEP-heavy projects.Hands-on experience with HVAC and ductwork modeling and coordination.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (essential).Familiarity with Navisworks, Civil 3D, and related coordination tools is a plus.Strong organizational and leadership skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and teams.Why Join?
