- Manage and maintain Ubuntu desktop and server systems within a large-scale, geographically dispersed enterprise.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues related to Ubuntu systems, network infrastructure, and virtualization environments.
- Participate in incident response efforts to identify, contain, address, and remedy cyber threats.
- Support forensic investigations and incident response initiatives, involving monitoring of IDS / IPS, SIEM tools, endpoint protection platforms, email gateways, firewalls, and network infrastructure.
- Review, identify, report, and assist in mitigating cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability scans on network devices for compliance with configuration baselines, documenting and reporting findings.
- Validate the effectiveness of security tools implemented in the environment.
- Support the design, implementation, and upkeep of both new and existing security infrastructure capabilities.
- Aid software developers in CI / CD pipeline processes, emphasizing automated security and compliance scanning and remediation.
- Conduct cybersecurity compliance activities, including unauthorized device discovery, policy violation site surveys, and enforcement of network access controls.
- Assist in the coordination, management, and reporting of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Document system configurations, processes, change management activities, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create and maintain knowledge-sharing resources as well as peer training materials.
- Research, compile, and analyze technical and cybersecurity data to aid informed decision-making.
- Use established standards and technical knowledge to troubleshoot problems and complete assigned projects.
- Collaborate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and Program Manager for Engineering to carry out their responsibilities.
- Independent direction from senior staff while proactively analyzing and communicating needs and performing additional tasks as assigned by management to support team objectives and organizational goals.
