Estimated Weekly Salary Weekly Salary Range : $1950 - $2090 per week (estimated) NICU RN Job Details Location : Lubbock, TX 79410 (West Texas healthcare jobs) Facility : Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Unit : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week Total Hours : 36 hours per week Patient Population : Neonates (including 29-34 weeks gestation) Unit Beds : 43 Average Daily Census : 35 Scrub Color : Navy Parking : Free parking and bike racks available NICU RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be valid at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent NICU RN experience (2 years preferred for travel nurse jobs) BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system Ability to float to PICU and pediatric units as needed Willingness to work weekends and holidays as scheduled Two recent supervisory references (covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years) NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in a Level III / IV NICU setting Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EHR Administer medications, blood products, and perform neonatal dosage calculations Manage central lines, arterial lines, and advanced ventilator support (CPAP, BIPAP, HFNC, oscillators) Assist with specialized neonatal procedures (lumbar puncture, surfactant administration, therapeutic hypothermia) Provide developmental care and feeding support (bottle, breast, gavage) Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay Float to PICU / pediatric units as needed based on census and staffing Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services) Maintain infection control and isolation precautions in the clinical setting Experience the best of Texas nursing jobs while making a difference in neonatal care.
