Job Title : Lab Technician (Part-time)
Job Description
The lab technician plays a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by maintaining laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The technician will employ general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation while adhering to quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Perform sample preparation tasks including aliquoting samples, spiking and tracing samples, preparing reagents, bottling samples, and setting up liquid racks.
Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure proper labeling of samples.
Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, and maintaining bench sheets and lab logbooks.
Wash lab glassware to prepare for the next day's samples and stock lab supplies.
Essential Skills
Experience in laboratory operations and sample preparation.
Knowledge of biology and chemistry.
High School Diploma is required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree is nice to have.
Experience in quality assurance, microbiology, food chemistry, and environmental monitoring.
Understanding of quality control, food safety, and food science.
Consistent job tenure of at least 1 year is preferred.
For new graduates, achievements in school through extracurriculars, internships, research, or jobs are desirable.
Experience in food service can be beneficial.
Work Environment
The position is located in a microbiology food testing lab. The shift is Thursday to Saturday from 12pm to 7 : 30pm, with overtime as needed. The lab operates 7 days a week, working closely with food manufacturers to ensure the quality and safety of food products, primarily ready-to-eat peanut butter and poultry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tucker, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00 / hr.
