QA/QC Engineer

Structural Technologies is the exclusive licensee of VSL® post-tensioning systems in the United States. Structural Technologies is the single source for VSL® products and technical support in the United States - which have been used throughout the world since 1956 to build, repair and strengthen bridges, buildings, tanks, and special structures.

We are currently recruiting for a QA/QC Engineer to join our Structural Technologies/VSL team in our office in Pompano Beach, FL. As a QA/QC Engineer, you will be involved in quality control of shop drawings in addition to providing technical support and oversight for the installation of various systems and related structural repair methods. You will assist in translating requirements into structural engineering concepts by reviewing and revising designs. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge with the latest developments in structural engineering and related disciplines by reviewing technical publications, attending technical conferences or professional society meetings, and discussions with industry representatives.

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Candidates with a Master's degree in Engineering may be given preference)
• 3-5 years of experience engineering design required, with a concrete repair or post-tensioning focus a plus
• Good understanding of civil and structural codes
• Demonstrated knowledge of reinforced concrete design, steel design, and static and dynamic structural analysis methods
• Demonstrated ability to generate structural models using industry software such as PCA design software, ADAPT PT, RAM Concept, CAD, Bluebeam or similar
• Experience with methods used in construction installation of design specifications
• Experience in the evaluation and assessment of repair alternatives for structural components
• Demonstrated ability to present proposed solutions to the customer and to communicate design repair details to estimating teams and construction installation crews
