Description :

This facility operates day shifts from Monday to Saturday.

The average patient census varies, ideally having around 7 patients per day.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 during the day shifts.

Dialysis technicians will have a patient ratio of 1 : 2.

Types of patients typically treated include those with ESRD, CKD, and AKI.

Each shift will have a charge nurse for support.

Additional support is available from an IV / VAT team, and there are 24 / 7 hospitalists and intensivists on staff.

Telemetry monitoring is provided within the unit.

The facility utilizes Epic as the electronic medical record system.

IV pumps used are Alaris, and med dispensing is managed through Omnicell.

Monitoring is handled with Masimo equipment, and unit specific equipment includes Tablo Machines.

In low census situations, staff may float to other areas within the hospital for assistance without taking patient assignments.

Call shifts are required, with coverage from 7 PM to 7 AM Monday to Saturday, and 24-hour coverage on Sundays split into two 12-hour shifts.

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Approvals are needed for requests for time off.

The changing of scrub color to navy blue is required for RNs.

The schedule will be provided every six weeks.
