Medical Assistant - Norfolk, Virginia

Join a dynamic team as a Medical Assistant in the Neuro Department. This role involves providing exceptional patient care by taking vital signs, assisting healthcare providers, and maintaining organized and well-stocked examination rooms. You will also play a crucial role in transitioning data to the EPIC system, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks.

Responsibilities :

• Take and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure in the electronic health record.
• Assist in converting data from Allscripts to EPIC.
• Chaperone and assist Providers and LPNs / RNs as requested.
• Maintain clean, well-equipped examination rooms, and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Stock examination rooms and triage areas with medical supplies, inventory, and submit reorder requests to the LPN Supervisor.
• Take messages in the electronic health record, page doctors when appropriate, and answer inquiries.
• Schedule patient appointments as needed.
• Greet patients in a patient-centered, courteous manner, and manage patient arrivals in the Practice Management Software system.
• Perform phone triage and various in-house labs, recording them per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment :

This role is based in Norfolk, Virginia. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM. The facility promotes a learning environment where employees have opportunities for growth and skill development within the healthcare field.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA. Pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
