Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Electrical Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance operations and lead a team in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and performing hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Compensation & Location

Compensation : $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly (DOE)

Location : Dallas, TX 75237

Shift Coverage / Schedule

  • Must be able to work in a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment with rotating or assigned shifts
  • Availability for occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts to support production demands
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for urgent troubleshooting and maintenance needs
  • Flexibility to support plant shutdowns, equipment startups, and project installations outside of regular hours

Responsibilities

Supervision & Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a maintenance team to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and safely
  • Oversee attendance tracking, time punches, and scheduling in Paylocity
  • Coordinate On-the-Job Training (OJT) documentation with HR and Supervisors
  • Manage call-ins and collaborate with HR on overtime scheduling and compliance
  • Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and company standards during production
  • Review maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas between shifts
  • Verify correct materials and tools are being used for all assigned tasks
  • Act as liaison between Quality Control and Operations to address and resolve quality issues
  • Report pest, safety, or equipment concerns promptly
  • Training & Development

  • Train new hires on maintenance procedures, safety standards, and company protocols
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching
  • Support employee growth through consistent feedback and development
  • Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce all safety, food safety, and environmental policies
  • Conduct and document incident investigations and near-miss reports
  • Ensure team adherence to PPE and daily safety check procedures
  • Lead toolbox talks and promote continuous safety awareness
  • Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and robotic equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records
  • Assist in installation, relocation, and setup of machinery and systems
  • Operate forklifts and lifting equipment as required
  • Ensure all maintenance work meets company and regulatory quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with engineers and other departments to improve equipment reliability
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices
  • Requirements & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical / electrical maintenance in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong background in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Proficient in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekends as needed
