The Emergency Department at Plainfield is a free standing 12 bed unit, part of Backus hospital’s emergency room that cares for patients across the spectrum of age, health, education, etc. The staff includes Registered Nurses, emergency department technicians, Unit Secretaries, Physicians, Mid-Level practitioners, support staff, Public Safety Officers, and in-department radiology. The Emergency Department is equipped with all tools needed to safely care for any patient from central station cardiac monitoring to ultrasound equipment, to our EHR (Epic ASAP). We are a primary stroke center. All staff work together and in a supportive environment to make sure we have a safe environment for our staff & patients, working the most efficiently, and providing the highest level of satisfaction for our staff & patients.

JOB SUMMARY

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in various locations including but not limited to ambulatory or acute settings by positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment and providing patient care during imaging exams to assist in diagnosis and treatment of the patient.

Qualifications

Education :   Graduate from an accredited Radiography program

Experience : E xperience as a Radiologic Technologist hospital setting preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration :   State of Connecticut Radiographer license required. ARRT certification in Radiography required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
