Your Role as a Staff Accountant :

As a a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all accounting functions related to a designated portfolio of properties. You’ll drive financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while providing leadership to a team of accounting assistants. Your work will provide high level support to our property managers and asset management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements .
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Oversee and approve accounts payable , avoiding late fees or penalties.
• Manage accounts receivable , including posting receipts, tracking delinquent accounts, and overseeing accounts being sent to collections.
• Execute utility billing with accuracy and timeliness.
• Record lease renewals , terminations, and modifications.
• Prepare and post journal entries .
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including property tax filings and audits.
• Lead and mentor accounting assistants , ensuring continuous improvement in accuracy and productivity.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
• Provide responsive financial support to property managers.
