Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Junior Accountant :
#1. Must have bookkeeping or other relevant accounting experience.
#2. Must have proficiency in accounting software.
#3. No more than three jobs in the last ten years
Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant :
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple entities, which includes the following :
Perform bank reconciliations
Prepare and post required journal entriesReview & reconcile all balance sheet accountsPrepare summary of significant events and budget variancesPrepare supporting documentation for financial statements including balance sheet schedules and other reconciliationsWork closely with independent auditors during annual financial statement audit with preparing schedules and invoices, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.Posting of accounts to the General Ledger for :Accounts Receivable
Cash ReceiptsAccounts PayableCash DisbursementsPayrollMaintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary.Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, schools, and others in a courteous and professional manner.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process.May perform other duties as assigned.Requirements of the Junior Accountant :
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.1-3 years bookkeeping or other relevant accounting experienceComputer Basics MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency in accounting software.Commitment to company values.Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the position and the mission of the company; supports company's goals and strategic priorities.Works and interacts with staff and relates to individuals at all levels of the organization; relates to individuals at all levels.
