SUMMARY :

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for equipment reliability and team development? Join us as a Maintenance Lead , where you'll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you'll lead maintenance and reliability efforts, drive continuous improvement, and mentor a skilled team—all while ensuring a safe, high-performing work environment.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage maintenance workflows, and ensure that all work is executed with precision and purpose. Your leadership will directly impact equipment performance, team growth, and overall plant success.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, food quality, and operational excellence. Availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead and Inspire : Guide maintenance team members to achieve excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Drive Reliability : Champion Precision Maintenance practices and ensure all maintenance work meets high standards.
  • Plan and Execute : Oversee the planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks using our CMMS (SAP), ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Mentor and Train : Support the development of team members through coaching, hands-on training, and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate for Success : Work closely with operations, engineering, and support teams to align maintenance efforts with plant goals.
  • Troubleshoot and Solve : Lead technical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts, fostering a learning environment.
  • Improve Continuously : Identify and implement projects that enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Document and Report : Maintain accurate records and support data-driven decision-making through CMMS and reliability reporting.
  • Promote Safety and Quality : Be a role model for safe work practices and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Support Company Culture : Embody and promote the values and principles of Michael Foods in everything you do.
  • Stay Compliant : Ensure all regulatory and company policies are followed.
  • Adapt and Contribute : Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and plant success.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

This role involves regular standing, walking, and talking, with occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, and lifting (up to 60 lbs). The work environment may be noisy and subject to temperature changes. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience (food manufacturing a plus).
  • Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS systems preferred.
  • Training in MFI MTL1, MTL2, and MTL3 skills preferred.
  • Leadership training (e.g., MFI People Leadership Essentials) is a plus.
  • Active membership in SMRP (Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals) is a bonus.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
