Tax Senior Analyst - Indirect Tax
Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting a Tax Senior Analyst - Indirect Tax based out of New Brunswick, NJ.
This position is within the State and Local Tax (SALT) team. The candidate's work location will be based out of New Brunswick, NJ and the position will incorporate the J&J Flex Hybrid Work Model (3 days on site, 2 days remote).
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and / or review indirect taxes including sales & use tax, real & personal property tax, local gross receipts, local business licenses & occupancy taxes, state & local annual licenses.
- Prepare and / or review and ensure accuracy of indirect tax accounts.
- Advise on the tax effects of proposed and enacted state and local tax legislation.
- Act as a liaison between the tax team and external tax compliance resources; resolve tax notices and correspondence; conduct analyses to identify implications; assist with researching, preparing, and communicating positions; document audit results and implement corrective measures post audit.
- Partner with all departments within the global tax organization, including tax planning, tax counsel, tax compliance and tax technology. The role will also partner with colleagues in finance, procurement and supply chain.
- Standardize and optimize major indirect tax processes with focus on sales & use tax processes and alignment with processes of existing US CTC companies.
- Assist and support the tax technology team with the assessment of the current state technology landscape, design of future state and prioritization of technology investments for indirect tax processes.
- Support the implementation, maintenance and administration of various indirect tax systems.
- Perform reconciliations between ERPs and Vertex.
- Ensure strong internal control environment including compliance with all SOX, internal audit, and J&J requirements.
- Participate in other ad hoc projects and planning initiatives.
Qualifications :
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a preference in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or related field is required.A CPA, MBA, Masters of Tax, or other certification preferred.A minimum of 3 years tax experience, including indirect tax experience is required.Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills are required.Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and promote innovation and continuous learning within the group is required.Proficient with Vertex and able to partner with Tax Technology team to assist with Vertex change requests.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of PC based programs : Excel, Word and PowerPoint, is preferred.Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The anticipated base pay range for this position is : $77,000- $124,200
