The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview :

The position will meet the operational needs of the surgery patient by organizing, receiving and properly storing and delivering surgical instruments, consumable supplies and equipment to the OR Suites quickly and accurately. Position will support an integrated, virtual SPD / Sterile Core / Materials Management function in the operating room. Functions in the OR setting under the direct supervision of the SPD Manager / Director. Anticipates the surgeons' needs and expedites the procedure. Competent and applies specialized experience in various surgical procedures, aseptic technique, flash sterilization and knowledge of supplies and instrumentation. Familiar with and utilizes the surgeons' preferences and written routines. Checks and assures the operative suite and equipment meet standards of care. Maintains inventory & procurement systems as developed and directed by Materials Management and Perioperative Services.

Ability to track and keep par levels for OR specific items as well as PBDS packs needed in the Operating Room. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environment, (damaged floors / walls / ceiling tiles / unsecured areas) and medical errors, incorrect counts or medication errors

Qualifications : Required :

• High School Diploma or equiv.
• Graduate of a Sterile Processing program
• Current CRCST Certification
• BLS through the American Heart Association
