Primary Purpose :
Perform on-site and remote technical work to install, maintain, and support the school district's technology systems. Technology systems include computer equipment, network equipment, other network connected equipment, software operating systems, and applications throughout the district.
Qualifications :
Education / Certification : Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in network / systems support
IT Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, or MCSA are preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Computer and network hardware and software applications including workstations, servers, printers, ethernet, wifi, and other equipment
Usage and Management of Operating systems including Windows and MacOS
Network protocols including tcp / ip, udp, dhcp, dns, radius, ldap, smpt, etc.,
Knowledge of Cloud SaaS services, including Google Workspace and O365
Ability to analyze and resolve computer and network problems
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal
Experience :
2 years of experience supporting IT Systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties :
Technical Support
1. Provide end user technical support related to all network connected devices including workstations, printers, etc. Work with vendors as necessary to provide support.
2. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers, peripherals and associated software throughout the district, using automation tools where possible. Includes end-user and enterprise systems.
3. Assist with the organization and distribution of technology-based material for classroom use.
Equipment Monitoring, Maintenance, and Repair
4. Diagnose and repair network connectivity, software, and hardware issues.
5. Coordinate repairs with vendors for technology devices.
6. Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new equipment according to policy.
Network Security
7. Manage user accounts and access for systems and network resources.
8. Assist with documentation for system configurations and maintenance as needed.
9. Follow change management procedures for documenting and implementing changes to systems.
Other
10. Maintain inventory of end user and enterprise IT devices.
11. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
12. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws and regulations and local board policy.
13. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
14. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
