Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CT RN license and significant cardiac ICU experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at a large, short-term acute care, Level I trauma center
  • Patients are high-acuity cardiac ICU population
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 for both day and night shifts
  • Shift schedule consists of night shifts, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 00), every other weekend required
  • Use of advanced cardiac monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Epic is the electronic medical record (EMR) system used and experience is expected
  • Floating within scope required to meet unit needs
  • Deliver expert nursing care to high-acuity cardiac ICU patients using advanced monitoring techniques
  • Must complete required training modules prior to start
  • Epic EMR orientation provided on site
  • No on-call obligations for this position
  • Request for more than 7 days of time off must be approved in advance
  • Holiday coverage may be required per unit policy
  • Parking is available at a cost of $125 per month

  • Active CT RN license or proof of application in progress
  • Minimum 3 years of recent cardiac ICU experience required
  • At least 1 year of Level I trauma center experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Proficiency in Swan-Ganz monitoring is required
  • First-time travelers accepted with sufficient cardiac ICU and / or critical care experience
  • Flu vaccine required without exceptions; COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved for medical or religious exemption
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Returning staff must have a 2-year gap before being eligible as a traveler
