Senior Accountant

Position : Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor

Location : Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Compensation : $65,000 - $85,000 annually, plus benefits

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of month-end close, oversee key accounting functions, and gain exposure to both nonprofit and for-profit operations. The role is designed for someone who can grow into higher-level leadership responsibilities, with the potential for succession into a Director of Finance role in the future.

Responsibilities :

Lead and perform the full cycle month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

Prepare and maintain financial statements and ensure accuracy for audit readiness

Manage allocation of operating costs across multiple programs and entities

Oversee grant management accounting, including recording grants, funder billings, and compliance with reporting requirements

Assist with annual budgeting, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting

Collaborate with consultants and internal team members on system improvements and process enhancements

Support implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, including chart of accounts updates and reporting tools

Provide guidance and review work of other accounting team members as needed

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

CPA or public accounting experience strongly preferred

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit accounting and grant management

Proven experience in month-end close and full cycle accounting

Familiarity with allocations, budget management, and audit preparation

Strong technical skills with accounting systems and Excel; experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar systems a plus
